How to: Tiger nail art.

Hey everyone,
So, nail art is a bit of an obsession of mine – I’m always watching tutorials and playing around with nail polish.
This design is a very simple one, and so I thought I’d share it all with you, as it only took me a few minutes to perfect.

Yellow BYS nail polish

All you need is yellow/orange nail polish and a bottle of black nail writer. You can get nail writers in all different colours, but if you want that tiger effect then black is best for this. I don’t use expensive stuff, and I find it works just fine. My yellow nail polish and black nail writer are the same brand from a two dollar shop! I actually really like this brand, as the polish doesn’t chip for a day or two, and you can get heaps of different vibrant colours.

So this is really very simple guys! First of all you just paint your nails yellow as the basis of your design and let it dry.
After two coats and leaving them to dry completely use the black nail writer to paint on the black stripes, however you want to make them look like a tiger’s stripes, so there are a few little things that can help with this.
Start at edge of your nail and do a quick, swift movement inwards so  that the line goes from thick at the start, to thin by the time it reaches the middle. Once you do a couple – I normally fit in a three or four on each side of the nail – do the same to the other side, but try and get the lines to go in between the ones you have already made. That way there aren’t any big gaps and it doesn’t look like you have just painted black lines on your nails. You can also paint the lines in an upward angle so they come off a little more natural. It’s easy to see what I mean in the photographs below.

This design really is one of the most simple designs I have tried – it really only requires a steady hand. Hopefully you all give it a try and enjoy your quirky outcome!
